[John Merrick]
Play based on the life of Londoner John Merrick, called "The Elephant Man" because of a disfiguring disease he suffered from. The play chronicles his acceptance into London society through the encouragement of a physician Frederick Treves. Mark was cast and had three weeks to learn the role. A total of 21 performances with him in the lead were done.
